Neverending Crochet

Ok, so in my last post I had just made a crochet cushion to use up scraps from my giant blanket. Unfortunately, once the cushion was done, I still had loads of yarn left! So, I made another cushion, this time edged in a pink so bright that it was really hard to photograph. Here it is, in all it's multi-coloured glory.

And guess what? I still have more yarn left! I've crocheted a chain, and started working stripes of double crochet. I'll stop when all the yarn is used up, and then I'll think of something to do with the resulting rectangle.

Granny Cushion

I finally found something to make with my leftover yarn from the giant Granny Stripe blanket! Using Attic24's Summer Garden granny square pattern, I crocheted 18 squares in a variety of colours, and then edged them all with bright blue. The finished result makes me very happy, and my sofa is slowly becoming more and more colourful and cheery. However, I've still got a huge number of leftovers, so I've started on the second cushion - watch this space for more bright and colourful pictures!

Rainbow!

I spent most of Christmas making a giant crochet blanket from Attic24's Granny Stripe pattern - many hours of frantic crocheting, which eventually turned out like this!

I have to confess that I didn't actually start it at Christmas, the cast-on chain was made in January 2013, but then I didn't do much over the course of the year. Look at the colours! It's so warm and cosy and lovely and bright and colourful, a proper snuggly cheering-up blanket.

After finishing the blanket, I had lots of yarn left over - not enough to make a full blanket, but too much to be thrown away. I decided to use Attic24's ripple pattern to create a rainbow cushion, and here is the finished result! The inner pad is a 12" feather cushion from John Lewis, and the buttons on the back are vintage finds. My starting chain was 45, and I did 5 repeats of the stripe pattern. It's lovely and soft, and I still have lots of yarn left! Time to find a motif pattern, I think...
